The Project

Pictures speak louder than a thousand words. With an image, you can instantly convey what it’s about. What do you associate with a cube-shaped ball? That it bounces? Is not playable? Reacts differently? Exactly!

The project idea

That’s why our partners, Allianz and FC Bayern Munich, wanted to produce a ball that visually expresses what women’s socecr is about. Things don’t always go smoothly there. Women in soccer have bigger hurdles to overcome than their male counterparts.

It starts with the difficulty of finding a suitable club, extends to deficits in youth development, continues with a lack of media attention, and ultimately reflects in financial aspects. And yet, we have fantastic players who, despite all the external influences, obstacles, or prejudices, persevere and turn their passion into a profession.

The Squared Ball represents all of this. The Allianz challenges the viewer to become aware of the various obstacles through the shape and messages on the ball. We at Rasenreich had the honor of developing this landmark because we are the experts in soccer balls with special shapes, called CORPUS.
